WHAT HAPPENS IN A LAUGHTER YOGA SESSION

Participants do not need any special equipment for laughter yoga, loose comfortable clothing is recommended.  Many of the exercises can be performed standing or sitting down to suit all fitness levels.

There are 3 elements to a laughter yoga session.

Firstly we work through a variety of simple laughter exercises that promote childlike playfulness, make believe, eye contact and laughter.  These are interspersed with yogic breathing. Working in a group the fake laughter quickly becomes spontaneous genuine laughter.  


The second element is a Laughter meditation which is a deeper experience of unconditional laughter and very cathartic.


Finally a guided meditation (Yoga Nidra) consolidates the benefits of laughter, ready to return to everyday life feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and full of energy.
